Implant Implantation Method

Implant implantation method is a form of birth control that involves inserting a small rod-like device under the skin in your arm. It contains a hormone called progestogen that prevents your body from releasing an egg. It also thickens the mucus in your cervix so sperm can’t get to an egg. It’s more than 99% effective (meaning that less than one woman in a thousand will get pregnant each year using this method). The implant can last up to five years. It’s safe to use while breastfeeding and it can help reduce heavy or painful periods. But it does not protect you against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).증산동치과

Unlike the pill, you don’t have to remember to take an implant every day. It’s a very effective method of birth control and is suitable for most people, up to age up to menopause, including heavy smokers, people with diabetes, high blood pressure, or who have had breast cancer. However, it may not work well for you if you have a liver condition or are taking medication that affects the liver. It’s also not recommended for women who have a history of depression, because progestin can worsen symptoms.

The implant is available at SHINE SA clinics as well as doctors, nurses and gynaecologists who have been trained in this procedure. It’s free for NZ residents under the National Health Plan. A small procedure is needed to fit and remove the implant. During this process, an injection is used to numb the area in your upper arm. The nurse or doctor will put the implant in just under your skin. It takes about a minute to do this. You might be able to feel the implant, but most people can’t. You will need to use a back-up method of contraception while the implant is in place.

Once the implant is in place, it will be in your arm for up to five years. It’s important to talk to your health care provider about pregnancy planning and birth control options before you decide to have it inserted.

There are many different birth control methods that your health care provider can recommend, depending on your individual needs and preferences. Your provider will look at your full health history to make sure the implant is safe for you.이일우치과
